This Happy Monster Quilt Design from here, https://pipersgirls.wordpress.com/2014/01/03/sneek-peek-m-is-for-monster/
Because I made it twin sized, I needed to create an extra monster. I backed it with an extra soft fleece and bound it with the same type of fleece in a bright zebra stripe.
I drew each monster out on paper and then traced it onto “Wonder Under” after I had ironed it to the fabric I would use. Then I cut out the design and ironed it onto the background fabric. You can easily follow the directions that come with the “Wonder Under” when you buy it. It is simple to use.
Choose bright and cheery colors for the monsters to give it a happy look.
It was lots of fun to do and made a little boy totally thrilled. this quilt goes all over the house with him and when he comes to spend a night at my house, it comes along.
I used cotton fabric to applique by machine with a blanket stitch. It makes a nice border to set the designs off.
I found the ultra soft minky type fabric for the back of this quilt. It adds so much comfort and fun. I chose colors that matched the back to bring it all together. I also added a second soft fabric to the back at the top and border. It gives it that extra bright punch.
Finally, I quilted it on my machine just using straight stitch designs going up and down across each stripe. It was easy because I didn’t do the free arm. It turned out to be very attractive that way with no blunders.
